An agreement on funding for a tunnel under Vaðlaheiði was signed today in Akureyri, 17th of August. The agreement is between the Ministry of Finance and Vaðlaheiðargöng hf., a company owned by the The Icelandic Road Administration and Greið Leið ehf. The agreement secures financing of the construction and until the tunnel will come into operation and the collection of road tolls has started. Tender documents for the construction of the tunnel will be delivered on Friday 19th August and bid opening is expected on the 4th of October.
Saga Investment Bank acted as an advisor of Vaðlaheiðargöng hf. regarding the funding.
